The 370z will finally be retiring as Nissan sports car soon. The 400z concept, which we can expect to come out next year, will feature a twin turbo V6 making from 300hp to 400hp. Aimed squarely at the supra, it will also feature a 6-speed manual, with a 7-speed auto coming as an option. It will be RWD only as Nissan don’t want it to intruding on its more luxurious counter part, the Infinity Q60 which gets AWD. It seems Nissan is taking the Z more up market then it’s previous incarnations, the 350z and 370z were both priced in the middle ground between the cheaper MX-5 and the more expensive NSX’s and GTRs, but Nissan is going up market with the 400z as it seems it’s the interior will feature better materials. It is estimated that the base will start at $45,000 while the top trim “NISMO” will start at $53,000.

Thoughts: Good to see a new z car finally be announced. Hopefully Nissan can pull itself out of the rut it has gotten it’s self into the last few years.
